TROY – Miami East High School FFA member Miranda Maggart thinks pink, instead of traditional orange, when it comes to fall’s harvest of pumpkins.
Maggart, a junior, is growing pink pumpkins with seeds provided by The Pink Pumpkin Foundation which raises money from the sales of the pink pumpkins for breast cancer research.
“It means something to me to be able to raise money for a cause and raise awareness,” Maggart said, noting several friends and family members who have battle cancer. “It makes me feel really good and its benefits a worthy cause while I’m working on my FFA project.”
